This has become my favorite ink. It looks as black as the Vortex ink, but I can use it in my rapidographs. It’s so much blacker than Ultradraw or Rotring ink, and that’s exactly what I hoped for. I put it in a .1 isograph, and size .25 and .5 rapidographs, and it has not clogged anything yet. Runs beautifully. and shaking it does not seem to create the same momentary foaming and fizzing as occurred with my Vortex inkwell (I guess stirring is what is called for, but I tend to mix my ink and paint with a vortex mixer, which I use to revivify miniature grade acrylics) .I love that I can use the same ink undiluted with all my tools–brush, dip pen, tech pens all work excellently. I hate actually dipping and prefer droppering, so the dropper is perfect for me too, both for loading quills and tech pen reservoirs. I am glad I bought two bottles so I have a backup, and I will definitely buy more when I finish the first bottle. I feel like this is the only india ink I will ever want to use again.

I’ve tried nearly every brand of India Ink and sumi Ink I could find in a quest to find my favorite. Over 20 brands. Some are great with brushes but not nibs or pens. Some are great with nibs and refillable pens but not brushes. Some are very black but glossy to the point they don’t actually look black unless viewed the right way. Some are very matte but aren’t very black.

This stuff works on everything. Works with everything. Nibs, brushes, tech pens, brush pens. It lays down a deep dark black, and it’s incredibly matte.

The bottle is great too! Nice, wide mouth so you can easily see into it when you dip, so you don’t dip too deep.

My only complaint is that it doesn’t come in bigger bottles. I’d buy it by the liter if I could.
